S4 Episode #20- Dani Riley

THE ONE WITH DANI RILEY

This week we are excited to welcome Dani Riley to the show! Dani dives deep into the unchanging character of God, discerning the voice of God in your life, and living a life of faith. If you have ever felt disqualified from being used by God because of shame or sin in your life, then Dani’s message of God’s grace and provision is for you!

Here is a a little bit about Dani in her own words, “I tell people I first love my bottle, then my mom, and then my God. My mother introduced me to Our Heavenly father by way of prayer. When I was a child I would pray to God about school, I would call on him in sad times, and thanked him for answered prayer. Throughout the years I have made some favorable decisions, other times I've chosen options that made my life more complicated and wedged space between God and I. No matter the decision God’s grace has been sufficient through it all. God has remained faithful, I continue to put my trust in him, and our relationship continues to grow. I look forward to where he is leading me in his purpose for my life, in his will, in his timing.”

Dani was a young mom, and she was told that her son was going to be premature. He was 2 pounds and 6 ounces when he was born, and Dani prayed and gave her son over to the Lord. Now he is 21 years old and a tall, strong man, and he is a constant reminder to Dani of God’s provision and His ability to take something so small and grow it into something big and powerful for His Kingdom!

Overcoming Shame

You can bring anything to God. You can be plain with Him because He already knows what you’ve done. There is nothing too bad or too far for Him. Give it all to God and let Him be God. Leave space in your life everyday for God to just be God to you.

Dani chose to not carry the shame because she truly gave it to God. There is great and beautiful freedom from shame in the Lord.

Discerning the Voice of God

  1. Know yourself

  2. Know the character of God

  3. Know the character of the enemy

The Devil will use the same tricks over and over, and he is always trying to make you question your identity. So knowing your enemy and how he is coming at you will allow you to see him coming.

When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted, the Devil first attacked his identity, then he tried to challenge Jesus’ faith. The devil comes for our hope and tries to make us question the words that we heard from The Lord.

If you feel like The Lord has told you something, write it down. It may take a long time for it to come to pass, but He is faithful to fulfill His promises. Anything you believe to be from The Lord will always be consistent with His Word. It is imperative that you remain rooted in The Bible in order to know what is truly coming from God and not from the enemy or from ourselves.

God never changes. If something is in His Word and consistent with His character, then it will not change and it will not come back void.

The Character of God

God does not change. He cannot change His mind. He can’t lie. He is a solid rock.

For instance, we know that God will always provide, so that is something to hold on to. There is comfort knowing that He will always remain the same– yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is a place of safety and security.

God always uses broken people. Moses ran away for a long time, but that didn’t discount him from being used by God. Moses killed a man, but he was not disqualified from God’s plan.

Jesus died for our sins. He has overcome our sins– we can have confidence in knowing there is nothing we can do that is not covered by his grace, forgiveness and redemption.

When you make your peace with the fact that God is a provider, then you can start expecting to see Him to show up for you. When you open the space for God to show up, He can blow you away!

“Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of the things you can not see.”
