S2 Episode #14: Emily Ratliff

The One with Emily Ratliff

A quick note: This week's episode was recorded prior to the COVID-19 outbreak. In light of recent developments, the Collected team is weighing our capacity to continue recording this show, as well as planning events booked for the next few months.

We will share our decisions with all of you in the coming days. In the meantime, thank you as always for listening! Please remember that everything we do is funded by those who benefit from our ministry, whether they be Patrons or event attendees. We are still waiting for our 501(c)3 to be officially registered, but we would certainly appreciate your contribution in these uncertain times.

HERE IS ANOTHER UNIQUE WAY TO GET INVOLVED! During a recent social media campaign, we asked our listeners and followers to give their favorite businesses and ministries a shout out. We then messaged the people who gave a shout out with an opportunity to sponsor an ad for that organization on our show. We felt like this was a great way to support grassroots organizations AND raise some cash-ola to keep the show on the air. We'd like to offer this opportunity to YOU as well! For a donation of $50 we will record an ad for the business or organization of your choice! The ad will run in all of our episodes dropping in May and June! Email hello@collectedworkshops.com for more information.

Emily Ratliff is the executive director of Claire’s Army, an organization that strives to act as God’s hands and feet for families fighting childhood cancer by supporting their daily responsibilities, allowing them to put time and focus on their child.

Listen in as Emily shares the passion behind her life's mission to serve families, love kids, and fight cancer. You won't want to miss Emily's inspiring story of hope and restoration in the midst of unspeakable heartbreak.

Emily loves caring for patients, families and the staff who love and work so hard to care for others. Emily is passionate about giving families as much time with their sick child as possible. During Claire’s treatment, her friends, co-workers, and community rallied around their family so Emily rarely had to leave Claire’s side. She sees the work of Claire’s Army directly impact families and cannot begin to explain the joy and relief that our services provide. Every time Claire’s Army delivers a meal, pays a bill, or hosts a fundraising event, she sees Claire in every moment. Claire’s focus was always on everyone else being OK and Emily wants to deliver on this – for as long as she possibly can.
