S4 Episode #18- Katie Dietz
THE ONE WITH KATIE DIETZ
This week I’m so excited to bring you my interview with Katie Dietz! Katie is a dental hygienist, writer, and the creator of the Radiantly Redeemed clothing brand. She is passionate about encouraging women on their walk with Jesus, and in this episode, she does just that! Tune in as Katie shares about how the radical love and grace of Jesus transformed her life and allowed her to find freedom from fear, anxiety and perfectionism.
On the Radiantly Redeemed website, Katie shares, “I believe these products can help strike up life-changing conversations about Jesus with those around you. I hope when you hold or wear your new purchase, you are always encouraged and reminded that Jesus is near. My prayer is that these products go out in the world and help facilitate deep, vulnerable conversations about Christ that will bring hope, love, peace and healing to those who are searching for it.”

Katie found herself in a season that should have been filled with joy, but instead she was experiencing extreme anxiety, loneliness and purposelessness. Katie looked like she had it “all together” on the outside, but internally she was in one of the hardest seasons of her life. It was during this season that she first cried out to Jesus and poured out her heart to Him as though he was a friend who was in the room with her. This was the first time that Katie ever experienced the presence of God and she was blown away!
You don’t have to be perfect. You can approach Jesus with honesty. You don’t have to hide your imperfections from Him; He already knows and He loved you anyway!
Jesus meets up in our brokenness, hurt and confusion. There is true freedom and healing when we can speak to Jesus about the truth of the pain that we are feeling. This is where true breakthroughs can be found!
When Katie released everything in her life to the Lord, the burden of all the things that had been weighing her down was lifted and she felt like a new person!
When Katie started working as a dental hygienist, she felt like she was being called to move into ministry. The Lord began to show her that her role as a dental hygienist IS her ministry. He was bringing people in her path in her everyday life that needed to see and experience the love of God!
PURPOSE
Your purpose is not found in your job— you may be a teacher, mom, dental hygienist, etc… but that is just your role. Your purpose is to love others like Jesus.
We are all called to the same purpose of glorifying God and showing His goodness to those around us. We can live out this purpose in exactly the places where God has you.
You can live out your purpose in any role in which you find yourself.
UNQUALIFIED
Katie never viewed herself as a writer or a speaker. She never felt qualified to connect with people through writing on a large platform. She struggled with reading and writing in school, but God has blown her away with the words that He has given her to share with her community.
Even when we feel unqualified, God can use our “yes” in powerful ways for His Kingdom!
Continue to give God your “yes”, even if you don’t feel equipped or confident. God will give you the words and equip you with exactly what you need right when you need it. Remain rooted in who Jesus is and He will sustain you with His strength and confidence.
It’s not about you, it’s about Jesus, so we can take the pressure off of ourselves to have to be perfect. He will give you the strength and confidence to do what He is calling you to do.
CHARACTER OF GOD
The love that God has for us, and the love that is available through the body of Christ. The love of the Father is what changed everything in Katie’s life and heart. When you know how loved you are by the one who created you, then you can have the confidence to boldly walk forward into anything He is showing you.
True peace, hope, forgiveness and joy are found in the presence and love of God. This is where true freedom is found!
BEING CONTENT
Being content looks like being a good steward of the skills and resources that God has given you at this exact moment. It’s important to have big dreams and goals, but we must not be so focused on rushing ahead that we miss out on what God has for us in this present season.
LEGACY
Changing the trajectory of your life and your family to follow Christ. It’s not about money or fame, it’s about Jesus and knowing that He is the one to run to in all things.
Show yourself grace. Life is hard. Transitions are hard. Allow yourself grace– you won’t have it all figured out, but allow God to guide you each step of the way. There is tremendous growth in waiting and giving God complete control of your life.
