Episode #32- Lacy + Darby Camp

The One with Lacy + Darby Camp

Lacy Camp is proud to call North Carolina her home, but spends time in Los Angeles, New Orleans, South Carolina and many different locations living her dream. Lacy earned a BFA in college, has had a love of acting her whole life and is active in the industry today.

Her love of acting has trickled down to her daughter Darby Camp, who has had the privilege of sharing the screen with her. She noticed Darby's imagination and self-confidence early and asked her agent to begin submitting her for roles. She booked her first job (Drop Dead Diva) at the age of 6. Then Blue the next year. Darby tested for a feature film, but did not book the role. She comments that she learned so much from not booking that she was able to apply going forward.

That experience helped her book her biggest role playing Madeline Mackenzie’s (played by Reese Witherspoon) daughter, Chloe on HBO's hit series, Big Little Lies. "Learning from disappointment and keeping your courage is how it goes in acting," Darby said. "The cool thing is, there's always another opportunity, which is all you can hope for." She has been fortunate enough to work on projects with amazing actors and directors. Most recently, Darby co-starred with Kurt Russell and Judah Lewis in the Netflix original, The Christmas Chronicles.

Lacy and Darby both express their faith on set and rely on God to lead the way and direct their steps as they navigate their careers in TV and film. Lacy’s husband Clark and Darby’s older sister Ruthie are their biggest fans. Listen to our interview with them to hear more about their exciting and challenging lives as successful actresses!
